I had the good fortune of working with a father and son on a theme shoot as they prepare to go to California for some acting opportunities. I'd worked with both at the Academie Agencie recently. Allen and Chance were kind enough to come to Watertown and we shot in the fantastic Goss Opera House with its awesome moody light and locations.
The shoot was to be inspired by television shows Sons of Anarchy and Vikings. What a great opportunity to try something a little different.
While I certainly enjoy working with female models, it is often fun to shoot male models in a grungy/edgy style as you can emphasize the textures in their skin, hair, beards in a way that just isn't going to work with female models where you generally need to de-emphasize these textures.
The guys did a great job in giving me the deep and mysterious expressions I was looking for. I think the location, the skill of the actors/models and the great diffuse light really paid off.
Here are a few samples. I've got quite a bit more work to do as we captured many images.
Many thanks to my good friend Stacey Lentz from the Academie Agencie for helping make this shot a possibility
